European IT Service Provider to expand to Germany

IT Service Company Danet becoming part of Devoteam    

Weiterstadt (Germany), 20. January 2009 - The Danet Group, a leading IT consul­ting and service company today announces that it will join Devoteam, one of the fastest growing leading IT Consulting companies in Europe. Devoteam, the Paris-headquartered group, will acquire the shares of Danet’s largest shareholders, SAIC and Deutsche Telekom AG. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

Danet is intended to play a major role in implementing Devoteam’s international growth strategy. The German market has until now been an unexploited opportunity for Devoteam, which already has operations in twenty countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The Devoteam Group considers Germany, one of the largest ICT markets in Europe, as an important and promising growth market. With the acquisition of Danet, the company has obtained a strong pillar within the German IT services market.

Against this background, Devoteam also plans to expand its telecommunications segment, from which it currently generates approximately one third of its total revenue. Danet is able to contribute its long years of experience, profound know-how and a large customer base. Based on those values, Devoteam intends to expand its own service portfolio to cover the entire value chain of the tele­communi­cations industry. With the future joint activities, Devoteam will be in a position to significantly increase its market share within the telco sector, by also implementing projects in the German market which will help the Group to advance to leading European players.

Danet will be operating the German representation of Devoteam largely inde­pen­dent­ly. The IT services company located in Weiterstadt, close to Frankfurt, will continue to offer consulting, system integration, managed and on-demand services in the context of complex IT applications for customers in the telecommunications, financial services, automotive, and transport & logistics sectors. Danet’s service offering portfolio and its sector focus will be expanded gradually. The Danet management headed by Jürgen Hatzipantelis (CEO) and Dr. Burkhard Austermühl (CFO) will continue to lead Danet’s business. The other management levels and organization remain unchanged within the new Group structure.
